Taking the word batik, Gabriella added antic, for the rhyme, and because it sounded good in all languages. Grahm Sisson and Kate Ciepluch of Laveer have created a company that makes hand embroidered linen t-shirts. Carrie Forbes, known as one of the most innovative designers in the Italian luxury handbag industry, has taken her artistry to shoes. Having first launched her brand in 1989 in Los Angeles, Forbes created a much coveted, modern version of hand crocheted handbags. Her collection sold to top luxury retailers around the world including Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, and Neiman Marcus. She gained the attention of several high fashion magazines including Vogue, WWD, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.
Following the success of her handbag collection, Forbes moved to Europe to hone her skills in the capital of luxury leather goods: Florence, Italy. The inspiration for Hartford was born by a Frenchman living in NYC in 1979.
Yves Chareton arrived in NYC with the idea to recreate '50s vintage shirts he found in flea markets in Paris. Thanks to a manufacturer who believed in his vision, Yves launched a casual and cool line of vintage-inspired shirts that became instant hits. Fans such as Bruce Springsteen ordered dozens of Hartford shirts for his tours. Hartford quickly became synonymous with quality fabrics, rich colors and authenticity.

Eight years ago my husband and I arrived in this small fishing village called Sayulita in Mexico, we literally fell in love with the Mexican culture. Living on the beach, we started thinking about the perfect beach towel. We were inspired by a Mexican fabric used to decorate houses, and we started to turn it in a beach towel. We just added colorful stripes to put our colorful and personal touch. Also the environment part was essential for us. Thus, we decided to collaborate with a firm that provides us recycled cotton to make our towels.
We received a warm welcome from Mexican people, consequently for us it's normal to give it back. 10% of the profits of each Las Bayadas sold will be donated to support a scholarship program for the local Mexican students going to the Costa Verde International School.

Lenny Niemeyer arrived in Rio de Janeiro, after moving from her childhood home in Sao Paulo.
